Launch of Community-Wide Engagement Initiative to Help Shape the Future of Municipal Services

July 17, 2026

The District of Houston is inviting every resident, business owner, and property owner to participate in one of the most significant public engagement initiatives undertaken by the municipality in recent years.

As the community continues to adapt to the financial impacts resulting from the closure of the Canfor mill, Council is launching a comprehensive Priority-Based Budgeting and Community Priorities Survey designed to ensure that future financial decisions are guided by the priorities and values of the people who call Houston home.

The three questionnaires are now available online through SurveyMonkey and can also be accessed through the District of Houston’s website and official social media channels.

Survey links can be found here:

Every voice matters. Every response helps shape the future of our community. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient, and financially sustainable District of Houston.
